Breakfast Burger Toastie

Because burgers are acceptable for breaky – a pasture-reared FFMM beef mince patty or Naked Leaf’s Beetroot & Bean Burger Patty (for the veggies), a fried free-range egg, all the cheese on a delectable toastie are on the menu. Yum!

  • For the meat lovers: Place the beef mince in a bowl and add lots of finely chopped fresh herbs, grated garlic and some finely chopped chilli for some added warmth. Mix until well combined and shape into pretty little patties.

  • Place a pan over medium heat with some oil. Fry the patties on both sides until golden and cooked to your liking. Remove from the pan and let them rest for 2-4 minutes.

  • For the veggie lovers:  Place a pan over medium heat with some oil. Fry the beetroot and bean patties (from frozen) on both sides until golden and heated through to your liking. Remove from the pan and let them rest for 2 minutes.

  • Pop your slices of bread into the toaster until warmed and golden – or toast ‘em in the pan if you’re feeling gourmet.

  • Grate up some cheese, and slice up some tomato.

  • Fry an egg in the pan to your preference – we recommend a sunny side up, to start your day on a bright note .

  • Put some garlic mayo on your bread slices. Add your cheese, layer up with all your tasty fillings as you wish, put the other slice of toast on top. Take a bite!

CHEF’S TIP:

To add an additional nourishing veggie layer, you can slice up some aubergine into 1cm thick disks. Fry them until golden and soft, season well, and add to your breakfast burger!
